More Detail

Over 13 Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I'm Susie Hudson. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals and couples with their mental wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment enables you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment appointment in Leeds, Harrogate or Burley in Wharfedale, Ilkley.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which matter concerning your early years and/or adult life you discuss. The objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a problem and discover a way forward which is appropriate for you.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapies to suit your preferences and the issues you encounter. It considers your subjective experiences and options. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-understanding.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious causes of the problems you experience. It facilitates you in becoming conscious of aspects of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to increase your self-comprehension to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression and substance dependence.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or discover appropriate methods of coping.
