Welcome. I'm Susan. I'm an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their emotional health. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment meeting in Romford.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your emotions and actions. It identifies and challenges negative ideas that maintain the issues you encounter. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends cognitive behavioural therapy for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, bulimia nervosa, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) (ME), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and self harm.

Counselling

(1 Review)
Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine which matter concerning your childhood or adult life you discuss. An objective of counselling is to enable you to talk about a problem and discover a solution which is right for you.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and relevant moments in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find suitable methods of managing.
