Welcome. I'm Sue Ivey. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor - I support individuals with their mental health. I have private and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor. My interest includes depression, relationship problems and stress, and the particular challenges faced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment meeting enables you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment session in Basingstoke or Odiham, Hook.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which matter regarding your childhood or adulthood you explore. The objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a problem and find a solution which is right for you.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the issues you encounter. It facilitates you in becoming aware of parts of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to increase your self-understanding to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates psychodynamic therapy for depression.

Easy to talk toHelpfulnessValue for Money

"In a nutshell, Sue is just brilliant! She really listens, and remembers things that I have discussed some time ago, so we always have very rounded discussions. I love that she not only listens, but gives excellent insight into theories, and how she views it (in a non-judgemental way). She often offers further reading, which is very helpful. She has extreme patience to keep going over things that matter to me, and I always look forward to my weekly session! In the 9 months I have been working with Sue, I feel that my confidence has massively improved, and I would really recommend going to see her for anyone that wants to get to know themselves better, and improve their life, as well as their relationships!"
