More Detail

2+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I'm Stephen Mcfarland. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals with their mental health. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and stress, and the specific difficulties encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment session enables you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment session in Cullybackey, Ballymena.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what issue regarding your early years and/or adult life you discuss. An objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a difficulty and discover a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you face. It considers your thoughts, emotions and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or discover appropriate ways of coping.
