More Detail

8 Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I am Sian. I'm a registered counsellor - I support individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor. My interest includes abuse, depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as well as the specific challenges faced by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting enables you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment appointment in Yardley, Birmingham.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what issue concerning your childhood and/or adulthood you explore. An aim of counselling is to help you to speak about a difficulty and discover a way forward which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

(1 Review)
Eye movement desensitisation reprocessing directs your eye motions to stimulate how your mind processes information. The procedure endeavours to reprocess your locked distressing memories. The objective of EMDR is to desensitise your painful memories.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests EMDR for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Transactional Analysis (TA)

Transactional analysis focuses on the modes you use to communicate with yourself and others. It considers the impact of your pre-conscious life plan and how to improve it. TA seeks to help you acknowledge your value and ability to grow.
