More Detail

Over 14 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hello. I am Sharon McCormick. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor - I support individuals, couples and families with their psychological wellbeing. I have private and public sector experience as a counsellor. My interest includes anger, relationship problems and self esteem, as well as the particular issues faced by men.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session helps you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment meeting in Burntwood.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine which issue concerning your early years and/or adult life you explore. The objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a problem and find a way forward that is right for you.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy centres on appreciating you. It sees you as a whole human being and prioritises your personal growth. Humanistic therapy aims to help you recognise your freedom.

Clinical Qualifications

  • Diploma
    Therapeutic Counselling - Humanistic
Burton College in conjunction with Central School for Counselling Training (CSCT) (UK)
    August 2002
  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) Counsellor since May 2002 (Registered since July 2013)

I abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
