More Detail

Over 13 Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I'm Rodger. I'm a registered dramatherapist and a registered psychotherapist - I support individuals with their emotional health. I have private and public sector experience as a dramatherapist and a psychotherapist.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment appointment in Brixton, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your feelings and behaviour. It recognises and challenges negative ideas that maintain the problems you encounter. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, bulimia nervosa, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) (ME), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, self harm and substance dependence.

Drama Therapy

Drama therapy helps you express yourself using plays and myths. There is no need for you to possess experience in acting. Drama therapy aims to help you create emotional change.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends drama therapy for schizophrenia.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you confront. It explores your thoughts, emotions and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or find suitable methods of coping.

Transactional Analysis (TA)

TA centres on the roles you use to communicate with yourself and others. It explores the impact of your pre-conscious life strategy and how to improve it. TA aims to help you acknowledge your worth and ability to grow.
