More Detail

Over 6 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Welcome. I'm Rochelle. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their mental health. I have private and public sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes abuse, alcohol dependence, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and substance dependence, as well as the specific challenges experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment meeting allows you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment meeting in Hendon, London or Mill Hill, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your emotions and behaviour. It recognises and challenges unhelpful thoughts which maintain the issues you experience. The aim of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, anorexia nervosa, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Binge Eating Disorder (BED), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), self harm and substance dependence.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide what issue concerning your early years or adult life you explore. The objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and discover a solution which is right for you.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you confront. It considers your thoughts, feelings and relevant events in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or find suitable methods of coping.
