More Detail

Over 10 Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I am Richard Reid. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals and couples with their mental health. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus involves Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), phobias and stress, as well as the particular problems encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting allows you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment session in Richmond or West End, London.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide what matter concerning your early years or adulthood you explore. An objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a difficulty and discover a solution which is appropriate for you.

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye movement desensitisation reprocessing directs your eye movements to affect how your brain processes data. The procedure attempts to reprocess your locked distressing memories. The objective of eye movement desensitisation reprocessing is to desensitise your painful memories.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends EMDR for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It explores your ideas, emotions and relevant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover appropriate ways of coping.
