More Detail

Over 4 Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Richard. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their mental health. I hold private and public sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus involves stress, and the particular issues experienced by men.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment helps you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment meeting in Potton, Sandy, Cambridge or Bedford.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which matter concerning your childhood and/or adult life you explore. An objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a problem and discover a way forward which is appropriate for you.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the issues you encounter. It facilitates you in being conscious of aspects of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to increase your self-understanding to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for depression and social anxiety disorder.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and significant events in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find appropriate methods of managing.
