More Detail

3+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I am Renate. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their mental health. I have private, public and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and relationship problems, as well as the specific obstacles faced by gay and mixed ethnic background men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment session helps you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment meeting in Salisbury, Winchester or Woodfalls, Salisbury.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine which matter regarding your childhood and/or adult life you discuss. An objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a problem and find a way forward that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy focuses on appreciating you. It considers you as a whole human being and emphasises your personal growth. Humanistic therapy seeks to help you recognise your freedom.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and relevant events in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or discover suitable ways of coping.

Transactional Analysis (TA)

Transactional analysis centres on the modes you use to interact with yourself and people. It explores the effect of your pre-conscious life strategy and how to improve it. TA seeks to help you recognise your worth and capacity to grow.
