Over 9 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Welcome. I'm Pauline. What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting enables you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment session in Edgware.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your feelings and behaviour. It recognises and addresses unhelpful thoughts which perpetuate the issues you encounter. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for alcohol dependence, anorexia nervosa, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, bulimia nervosa, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) (ME), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, self harm and substance dependence.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which issue regarding your early years and/or adult life you explore. An objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a difficulty and find a solution that is appropriate for you.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you confront. It explores your ideas, emotions and relevant moments in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or find suitable ways of managing.
