More Detail

1+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm Patricia. I'm a registered counsellor - I assist individuals with their mental health. I have private and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor. My focus includes depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and panic disorder, as well as the specific issues faced by men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment meeting allows you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment meeting in Nocton, Lincoln.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your feelings and actions. It identifies and challenges negative thoughts that maintain the issues you encounter. The aim of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which issue concerning your childhood and/or adulthood you discuss. The objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a problem and find a way forward which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.
