More Detail

Over 3 Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I am Michelle Field. I'm a registered counsellor - I help individuals with their mental health. I have private sector experience as a counsellor.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment session in Beckenham.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT concentrates on how your thoughts affect your feelings and behaviour. It recognises and addresses unhelpful thoughts that perpetuate the problems you encounter. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, self harm and substance dependence.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what matter regarding your childhood or adulthood you discuss. The objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and find a way forward which is appropriate for you.
