Over 6 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hello. I'm Melani Sampson. I'm an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist and an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist - I support individuals with their mental wellbeing. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist and a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment appointment allows you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment appointment in Wimbledon, London, Bishopsgate, London or Victoria, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your feelings and actions. It recognises and addresses negative thoughts which maintain the problems you experience. The objective of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates CBT for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), bulimia nervosa, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) (ME), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance dependence.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which matter regarding your early years and/or adulthood you discuss. An aim of counselling is to enable you to talk about a problem and find a way forward that is right for you.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious causes of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in becoming conscious of parts of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to enhance your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression and substance dependence.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your ideas, feelings and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or discover appropriate methods of managing.
