Over 8 Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Mari Yamamoto. I'm a registered and accredited psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I have private and voluntary sector experience as a psychotherapist. My focus includes depression, relationship problems and self esteem, as well as the particular difficulties faced by business men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting allows you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment meeting in Ealing, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts influence your emotions and actions. It identifies and challenges unhelpful thoughts that maintain the issues you encounter. The aim of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder and self harm.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what issue regarding your early years and/or adult life you explore. The aim of counselling is to enable you to talk about a problem and discover a solution that is appropriate for you.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapies to suit your needs and the issues you experience. It explores your personal experiences and choices. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-understanding.

Psychosexual Therapy

Psychosexual therapy focuses on understanding the sexual difficulties you experience. When appropriate, you complete treatment tasks privately in your home. Psychosexual therapy seeks to help you overcome sexual difficulties.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your ideas, emotions and significant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover appropriate ways of managing.

Transactional Analysis (TA)

TA focuses on the modes you use to interact with yourself and people. It explores the impact of your pre-conscious life strategy and how to enhance it. TA seeks to help you acknowledge your value and capacity to grow.
