More Detail

Over 8 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hi. I am Margaret Lidgett. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor - I assist individuals, couples and families with their emotional wellbeing. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor. My focus involves depression, and the specific problems encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment allows you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment session in City of London, London or Hertingfordbury, Hertford.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which matter concerning your early years or adulthood you discuss. An objective of counselling is to enable you to talk about a problem and discover a solution which is right for you.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapies to suit your preferences and the problems you experience. It considers your subjective experience and options. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you advance your self-awareness.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in being aware of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to enhance your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa and depression.

Clinical Qualifications

  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) Counsellor since April 2008 (Registered since April 2013)

I abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
