More Detail

Over 2 Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm Maha. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals with their psychological health. I have private and public sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes abuse, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and relationship problems, as well as the specific issues experienced by women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting allows you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment appointment in Crystal Palace, London.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what matter regarding your early years and/or adulthood you explore. The aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and discover a way forward that is right for you.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious causes of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in being conscious of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to increase your self-understanding to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression, self harm, social anxiety disorder and substance dependence.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It considers your thoughts, feelings and relevant events in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find appropriate ways of coping.
