More Detail

Over 3 Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I am Laura Rutlidge. I'm a registered counsellor - I support individuals with their emotional wellbeing. I have private and public sector experience as a counsellor. My focus includes anger, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), as well as the particular issues encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session enables you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment appointment in Crosby, Liverpool.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine which issue concerning your childhood and/or adult life you discuss. An objective of counselling is to enable you to talk about a problem and discover a solution which is appropriate for you.

Thoughts on Mental Health

If your partner constantly criticises you, undermines your decisions or laughs at you, rather than with you, when you make a mistake, this can result in the lowering of your self-esteem. Sometimes your partner may not be aware of the effect of their actions; at other times this behaviour can be used by a partner as a means of control, and may be classed as emotional abuse. If this is happening to you, it is important to seek help or support from family and friends. Counselling can also help you with deal with these issues. You and your counsellor would work together to help rebuid your self esteem and provide support to help you make any changes you feel are needed in your life.
