Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Laura Constantinescu. I'm a chartered and registered counselling psychologist - I help individuals and couples with their mental health. I hold private sector experience as a counselling psychologist.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment enables you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment meeting in St. Pauls, London.

Client Centred Therapy

Client centred therapy focuses on appreciating and accepting you. It encourages your honesty around the worries you encounter. Client centred therapy aims to help you find your own answers.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your feelings and behaviour. It identifies and addresses unhelpful ideas which maintain the issues you encounter. The aim of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) (ME), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and self harm.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine what matter regarding your early years or adulthood you discuss. An aim of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and discover a way forward that is appropriate for you.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapeutic approaches to fit your needs and the problems you encounter. It considers your subjective experience and options. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you advance your self-awareness.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious meaning of the problems you encounter. It facilitates you in being aware of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to increase your self-comprehension to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for depression and self harm.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your mind, feelings and behaviour. It offers you psychological treatments and mental health support. An intention of psychological therapy is to help you alleviate symptoms.
