More Detail

Over 10 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hello. I'm Julia. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I have private and public sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest involves anger and panic disorder, as well as the particular difficulties faced by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment enables you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment appointment in Oxford.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which issue regarding your early years and/or adult life you discuss. An aim of counselling is to help you to speak about a problem and find a way forward which is appropriate for you.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in being aware of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to enhance your self-understanding to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression, self harm and substance dependence.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you confront. It considers your thoughts, feelings and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or find suitable ways of coping.
