More Detail

Over 5 Years Post-Chartership Experience

Hello. I'm Judith Terry. I'm a chartered and registered counselling psychologist - I help individuals with their mental wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counselling psychologist.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session allows you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment session in Esher.

Client Centred Therapy

Client centred therapy focuses on understanding and accepting you. It encourages your openness around the worries you encounter. Client centred therapy seeks to help you find your own solutions.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts influence your feelings and behaviour. It recognises and challenges negative thoughts which maintain the issues you experience. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests CBT for depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and panic disorder.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide what issue regarding your early years or adulthood you discuss. An objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and discover a solution that is appropriate for you.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapies to fit your preferences and the problems you encounter. It explores your subjective experiences and options. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-awareness.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious causes of the problems you experience. It facilitates you in being conscious of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to enhance your self-comprehension to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates psychodynamic therapy for depression.

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, emotions and actions. It offers you psychological interventions and mental wellbeing support. The intention of psychological therapy is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Easy to talk toHelpfulnessValue for Money

"Judith has a gentle, patient approach and as I was a first-timer for therapy she made it very easy for me to ease into the process and work with her on anything that was important, digging deeper where appropriate. I felt we came a long way in our sessions and I can see positive improvements in the areas of my life we discussed. Judith was also very helpful when I asked for flexibility with appointments."
