Hi. I am Jean Maddock. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals with their mental wellbeing. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment helps you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment session in Hockley, Nottingham or Sherwood, Nottingham.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which issue concerning your childhood or adult life you discuss. An aim of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and discover a solution that is appropriate for you.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy focuses on valuing you. It sees you as a whole person and emphasises your personal development. Humanistic therapy aims to help you realise your autonomy.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your ideas, emotions and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or discover suitable methods of managing.
