More Detail

5 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hi. I'm Jaquetta. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals with their psychological wellbeing. I have private, public and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus includes bereavement, relationship problems and self esteem, as well as the specific problems faced by women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment appointment enables you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment meeting in Exeter or Torquay.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine what issue concerning your childhood or adulthood you explore. The aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and discover a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy focuses on appreciating you. It considers you as a whole person and prioritises your unique development. Humanistic therapy seeks to help you realise your freedom.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your ideas, feelings and significant events in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover appropriate ways of coping.
