An introductory assessment session helps you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment appointment in Farnham.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT concentrates on how your thoughts influence your feelings and behaviour. It identifies and addresses negative ideas which perpetuate the problems you encounter. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for alcohol dependence, bipolar disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, self harm, social anxiety disorder and substance dependence.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which issue concerning your childhood or adult life you discuss. The aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and find a solution which is right for you.

Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt therapy considers the entire you. It centres on what it is to be you experiencing the here and now. The intention of gestalt therapy is to help you heighten your perception.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It considers your thoughts, feelings and significant moments in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or find appropriate ways of managing.
