More Detail

Over 18 Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Jane Roberts. I'm a registered psychotherapist - I assist individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I hold private and public sector experience as a psychotherapist. My focus includes abuse, alcohol dependence, anorexia nervosa and bereavement, and the particular problems encountered by business men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment enables you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment session in Folkestone.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what matter regarding your childhood and/or adulthood you discuss. An objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a problem and discover a way forward which is appropriate for you.

Psychoanalytic Therapy

Psychoanalytic therapy focuses on the unconscious causes of the problems you experience. It facilitates your awareness of some of your unconscious. The aim of psychoanalytic therapy is for you to gain personal knowledge and use it if you decide to.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the problems you encounter. It facilitates you in becoming conscious of parts of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to enhance your self-comprehension to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression, self harm and substance dependence.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It considers your thoughts, feelings and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or discover appropriate methods of managing.
