Over 8 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hi. I'm Jaime Reininho. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals, couples and families with their mental wellbeing. What to Expect

An introductory assessment session enables you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment appointment in Clifton, Bristol or Gloucester.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your emotions and actions. It recognises and challenges unhelpful thoughts which perpetuate the issues you experience. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, bipolar disorder, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) (ME), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self harm, social anxiety disorder and substance dependence.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what issue regarding your early years or adult life you discuss. The aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and discover a solution that is appropriate for you.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your ideas, feelings and relevant events in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or find suitable methods of coping.
