12 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Welcome. I'm Helen Lea. What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting enables you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment session in Hove.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts influence your feelings and actions. It identifies and addresses negative thoughts that maintain the problems you encounter. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests CBT for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) (ME), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine what issue concerning your early years or adulthood you explore. The aim of counselling is to enable you to talk about a difficulty and find a way forward which is appropriate for you.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapies to suit your needs and the problems you encounter. It explores your personal experiences and options. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-understanding.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your ideas, emotions and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or find appropriate methods of managing.
