More Detail

Over 5 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hello. I'm Halima. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals with their emotional health. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting allows you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment meeting in Finsbury Park, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your feelings and actions. It recognises and addresses unhelpful ideas that perpetuate the issues you encounter. The objective of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends cognitive behavioural therapy for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance dependence.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which issue regarding your childhood or adult life you explore. An objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a problem and find a way forward that is right for you.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapeutic approaches to suit your needs and the problems you experience. It considers your personal experience and choices. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you advance your self-understanding.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It considers your ideas, feelings and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover suitable ways of coping.

Clinical Qualifications

  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) Counsellor and Psychotherapist since July 2011 (Registered since July 2011)
