More Detail

Over 13 Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Gillie. I'm a registered counselling psychologist - I help individuals with their mental health. I have private sector experience as a counselling psychologist. My interest involves alcohol dependence, as well as the specific issues encountered by women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment enables you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment meeting in Sydenham, London.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine which issue concerning your childhood or adult life you discuss. The objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and find a solution which is right for you.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapies to suit your preferences and the problems you experience. It explores your personal experience and options. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-awareness.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious causes of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in being aware of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to increase your self-understanding to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression, self harm and substance dependence.

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It offers you psychological treatments and mental wellbeing support. An intention of psychological therapies is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)

SFT concentrates on finding solutions for the issues you encounter. It explores what assists you, and which steps you could take to implement change. The purpose of solution focused therapy is to help you recognise and use your personal strengths.
