More Detail

Over 1 Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Jill. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals with their emotional wellbeing. I hold private, public and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), panic disorder and phobias, as well as the particular issues experienced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session allows you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment session in Daventry or Coventry.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT concentrates on how your thoughts influence your emotions and actions. It identifies and challenges negative thoughts which maintain the problems you encounter. The aim of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for bipolar disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) (ME), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what issue regarding your childhood and/or adulthood you discuss. The objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a problem and discover a solution which is appropriate for you.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It explores your ideas, feelings and relevant events in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or discover suitable methods of managing.
