Hello. I am Gareth Beresford-Jones. I'm a registered psychodynamic psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their mental wellbeing. I have private and public sector experience as a psychodynamic psychotherapist. My interest involves abuse, bereavement and depression, and the specific obstacles experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment session allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment session in Clawthorpe, Carnforth or Didsbury, Manchester.

Psychoanalytic Therapy

Psychoanalytic therapy concentrates on the unconscious causes of the problems you experience. It fosters your consciousness of some of your unconscious. The aim of psychoanalytic therapy is for you to gain personal knowledge and utilise it if you wish to.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the problems you experience. It facilitates you in becoming aware of aspects of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to increase your self-comprehension to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates psychodynamic therapy for depression.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you confront. It explores your thoughts, feelings and relevant events in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover suitable ways of coping.
