Over 5 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Welcome. I'm Elise Wardle. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their psychological wellbeing. I have private and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus involves bereavement, depression and stress, and the specific problems faced by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment session enables you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment session in Hersham, Walton-on-Thames.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine which issue regarding your childhood or adulthood you discuss. The aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and discover a solution that is appropriate for you.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy focuses on appreciating you. It sees you as a whole human being and emphasises your unique growth. Humanistic therapy seeks to help you recognise your autonomy.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the issues you encounter. It facilitates you in becoming conscious of parts of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to enhance your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression and substance dependence.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It explores your thoughts, emotions and significant moments in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or find suitable ways of coping.
