More Detail

Over 10 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hello. I'm Eleanor. I'm an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist - I support individuals with their emotional wellbeing. I have private, public and voluntary sector experience as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist. My focus includes depression, self esteem and stress, as well as the particular issues faced by bisexual, gay and heterosexual men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting enables you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment session in Grays Inn, London or Waterloo, London.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and commitment therapy focuses on your responses to your emotions. It fosters your toleration of your bodily sensations. ACT aims to help you commit yourself to useful change.

Applied Relaxation (AR)

AR trains you in physical relaxation exercises. You utilise the self-relaxation techniques when you need them. Applied relaxation aims to help you be more calm.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates AR for Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD).

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts affect your emotions and behaviour. It identifies and addresses unhelpful thoughts that maintain the problems you experience. The aim of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bulimia nervosa, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) (ME), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder and substance dependence.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It explores your ideas, feelings and significant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover appropriate methods of coping.
