More Detail

Over 3 Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I am Eileen Steed. I'm a registered counsellor - I assist individuals with their psychological health. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor. My focus involves bereavement, depression and Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), and the particular challenges experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting helps you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment session in Uppermill, Oldham or Rochdale.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your feelings and actions. It identifies and addresses negative thoughts which perpetuate the problems you experience. The objective of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and panic disorder.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what matter concerning your early years or adult life you discuss. The objective of counselling is to enable you to talk about a difficulty and find a solution that is appropriate for you.
