Over 11 Years Post-Chartership Experience

Welcome. I am Tom Boyd. I'm a chartered and registered clinical psychologist - I support individuals with their mental health. I have private, public and voluntary sector experience as a clinical psychologist. My interest includes depression, panic disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and the particular problems encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session enables you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment appointment in Reading.

Client Centred Therapy

Client centred therapy focuses on understanding and supporting you. It encourages your honesty around the worries you encounter. Client centred therapy aims to help you find your own answers.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts affect your feelings and behaviour. It recognises and challenges negative ideas which perpetuate the issues you experience. The aim of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates CBT for bipolar disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) (ME), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapies to fit your preferences and the issues you experience. It considers your personal experience and options. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you advance your self-understanding.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, emotions and behaviour. It offers you psychological treatments and mental wellbeing support. The intention of psychological therapies is to help you ease symptoms.
