Over 5 Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm Sonia. I'm a chartered and registered counselling psychologist and an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist - I help individuals, couples and families with their emotional wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counselling psychologist and a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist. My focus includes depression, relationship problems and stress, as well as the particular issues encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting allows you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment session in Euston, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your feelings and behaviour. It identifies and addresses negative ideas which maintain the problems you encounter. The aim of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, self harm and substance dependence.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which matter concerning your childhood and/or adulthood you explore. An aim of counselling is to help you to speak about a difficulty and find a way forward that is right for you.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, emotions and actions. It offers you psychological interventions and mental health support. The objective of psychological therapies is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you confront. It considers your thoughts, feelings and significant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover suitable methods of coping.
