Over 6 Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I'm Sofia. I'm a registered clinical psychologist - I support individuals and couples with their mental health. I have private sector experience as a clinical psychologist.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment appointment helps you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment appointment in West Kensington, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts influence your feelings and behaviour. It identifies and challenges negative thoughts which maintain the issues you experience. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for alcohol dependence, anorexia nervosa, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, self harm and substance dependence.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

DBT considers your perception of your ideas and feelings. It facilitates your finding of useful reactions to your life. Dialectical behaviour therapy intends to help you enhance and continue your coping abilities.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends dialectical behaviour therapy for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapeutic approaches to suit your preferences and the issues you experience. It considers your personal experience and choices. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-understanding.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the issues you encounter. It facilitates you in becoming aware of aspects of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to enhance your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression, self harm and substance dependence.

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It offers you psychological treatments and mental wellbeing support. The intention of psychological therapies is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)

SFT focuses on discovering answers for the problems you experience. It explores what helps you, and which steps you could take to implement change. The purpose of SFT is to help you recognise and use your own strengths.

Systemic Therapy

Systemic therapy focuses on the system of interactions between you and people. It identifies the interactions which maintain the interpersonal conflicts you experience. Systemic therapy seeks to help you enhance how you communicate with people.
