11 Years Post-Chartership Experience

Hello. I am Rebecca Donaldson. I'm a chartered and registered clinical psychologist - I support individuals with their psychological health. I hold private and public sector experience as a clinical psychologist. My interest includes depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and self esteem, as well as the particular difficulties experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment helps you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment meeting in Selby.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts influence your feelings and actions. It recognises and addresses unhelpful thoughts that maintain the problems you experience. The aim of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates CBT for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Interpersonal Therapy

Interpersonal therapy focuses on the relationship concerns you experience. It facilitates you in understanding issues differently. An aim of interpersonal therapy is to help you make useful changes to how you communicate.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends interpersonal therapy for depression.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, emotions and behaviour. It offers you psychological treatments and mental health support. An intention of psychological therapy is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)

SFT focuses on finding answers for the problems you experience. It explores what helps you, and which steps you can take to effect change. The intention of SFT is to help you recognise and use your own strengths.

Systemic Therapy

Systemic therapy focuses on the organisation of interactions between you and others. It identifies the interactions which maintain the relationship problems you experience. Systemic therapy seeks to help you enhance how you communicate with others.
