What to Expect

An introductory assessment session allows you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may assist you. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and commitment therapy focuses on your reactions to your emotions. It encourages your toleration of your physical sensations. Acceptance and commitment therapy aims to help you dedicate yourself to positive action.

Client Centred Therapy

Client centred therapy focuses on appreciating and accepting you. It encourages your honesty around the worries you experience. Client centred therapy aims to help you find your own answers.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your feelings and actions. It recognises and addresses unhelpful ideas that maintain the problems you encounter. The aim of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for bipolar disorder, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia and substance dependence.
