Over 10 Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm Matthew Richardson. I'm a registered and chartered clinical psychologist - I support individuals and couples with their psychological health. I hold private and public sector experience as a clinical psychologist. My interest includes Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder and self esteem, and the particular challenges faced by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment session allows you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment appointment in Borough, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your feelings and actions. It recognises and addresses unhelpful ideas that maintain the problems you encounter. The aim of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates CBT for bipolar disorder, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia and substance dependence.

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It offers you psychological treatments and mental wellbeing support. An objective of psychological therapy is to help you alleviate symptoms.
