More Detail

Over 7 Years Post-Chartership Experience

Welcome. I am Marianne Rabassa. I'm a chartered and registered counselling psychologist - I help individuals with their emotional wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counselling psychologist.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session allows you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment meeting in South Woodford, London.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT focuses on your responses to your feelings. It encourages your toleration of your bodily sensations. Acceptance and commitment therapy seeks to help you dedicate yourself to positive change.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts affect your feelings and actions. It recognises and challenges unhelpful ideas that maintain the issues you encounter. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and panic disorder.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide what matter concerning your early years or adult life you discuss. An objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a problem and find a way forward which is appropriate for you.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapies to fit your preferences and the problems you experience. It considers your subjective experiences and options. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you advance your self-awareness.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your mind, emotions and actions. It offers you psychological treatments and mental health support. The objective of psychological therapies is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)

SFT concentrates on finding solutions to the issues you encounter. It examines what assists you, and what steps you could make to effect change. The purpose of solution focused therapy is to help you recognise and utilise your own resources.
