More Detail

Over 3 Years Post-Chartership Experience

Hi. I'm Dr Fardin. I'm a chartered and registered counselling psychologist - I support individuals and families with their psychological wellbeing. I hold private and public sector experience as a counselling psychologist. My focus involves anger, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and substance dependence, and the particular difficulties faced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment allows you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment session in Tooting, London or North Marylebone, London.

Client Centred Therapy

Client centred therapy focuses on understanding and accepting you. It encourages your openness around the concerns you encounter. Client centred therapy seeks to help you find your own solutions.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts influence your emotions and actions. It recognises and addresses unhelpful thoughts that perpetuate the issues you encounter. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates CBT for alcohol dependence, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), bipolar disorder, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, self harm, social anxiety disorder and substance dependence.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide which issue concerning your early years or adult life you discuss. The objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and find a solution which is appropriate for you.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapeutic approaches to fit your needs and the problems you experience. It explores your personal experiences and options. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-awareness.

Interpersonal Therapy

Interpersonal therapy focuses on the relationship concerns you encounter. It facilitates you in understanding issues differently. An objective of interpersonal therapy is to help you make helpful changes to how you communicate.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends interpersonal therapy for depression.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious meaning of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in becoming aware of aspects of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to enhance your self-understanding to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for depression, self harm, social anxiety disorder and substance dependence.
