More Detail

Over 4 Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Benjamin. I'm a chartered and registered counselling psychologist - I help individuals and couples with their emotional health. I have private sector experience as a counselling psychologist. My interest includes Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self esteem and stress, and the particular difficulties experienced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment session helps you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment session in Bishopsgate, London, Soho, London or South Woodford, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT concentrates on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your feelings and behaviour. It recognises and addresses unhelpful ideas which perpetuate the issues you experience. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine which issue concerning your early years and/or adulthood you discuss. An objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a problem and discover a solution that is right for you.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy focuses on valuing you. It considers you as a whole human being and emphasises your unique growth. Humanistic therapy aims to help you realise your autonomy.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapies to fit your needs and the issues you experience. It explores your subjective experience and options. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-awareness.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious causes of the problems you experience. It facilitates you in being aware of parts of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to enhance your self-comprehension to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates psychodynamic therapy for depression.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your mind, feelings and behaviour. It offers you psychological treatments and mental health support. The intention of psychological therapy is to help you alleviate symptoms.
