More Detail

12 Years Post-Chartership Experience

Welcome. I am Anna Collins. I'm a chartered and registered health psychologist - I help individuals with their emotional health. I hold private sector experience as a health psychologist.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting enables you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment appointment in Farnham.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions. It identifies and addresses negative ideas which maintain the problems you experience. The aim of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, bulimia nervosa, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) (ME), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and self harm.

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR directs your eye motions to stimulate how your mind processes data. The procedure endeavours to reprocess your locked traumatic recollections. The objective of EMDR is to desensitise your upsetting memories.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends eye movement desensitisation reprocessing for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your mind, emotions and behaviour. It offers you psychological interventions and mental wellbeing support. An intention of psychological therapies is to help you alleviate symptoms.
