Over 14 Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I'm Deanna Seeff. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I hold private, public and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes relationship problems and self esteem, and the particular problems faced by mixed ethnic background women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment appointment allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment appointment in Woodford Green or Bishopsgate, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts affect your feelings and actions. It identifies and addresses negative ideas which perpetuate the problems you encounter. The aim of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, anorexia nervosa, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, bulimia nervosa, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) (ME), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder and substance dependence.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what issue regarding your childhood or adult life you discuss. An objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and discover a way forward that is right for you.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the problems you encounter. It facilitates you in becoming conscious of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to enhance your self-comprehension to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression and substance dependence.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you face. It considers your thoughts, feelings and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or find suitable methods of coping.
