More Detail

Over 8 Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I am David. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals with their emotional health. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session allows you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment appointment in Oxford Circus, London or South Bank, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT concentrates on how your thoughts affect your emotions and behaviour. It recognises and addresses unhelpful ideas that maintain the problems you encounter. The aim of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for alcohol dependence, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance dependence.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what issue regarding your early years and/or adult life you explore. The aim of counselling is to help you to speak about a difficulty and discover a solution that is right for you.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It considers your thoughts, emotions and significant moments in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or find appropriate methods of managing.
