More Detail

Over 13 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Welcome. I am Chris Whiteley. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals with their emotional wellbeing. I hold private, public and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest involves abuse, depression and relationship problems, and the particular challenges faced by business men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment session in Long Eaton, Nottingham.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide which matter regarding your childhood and/or adulthood you discuss. The objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a problem and discover a way forward that is right for you.

Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT)

Dynamic interpersonal therapy focuses on your unconscious pattern of relating to people. It establishes the connection between your specific pattern and the relationship difficulty you experience. The intention of dynamic interpersonal therapy is to help you develop your interpersonal skills.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious causes of the issues you encounter. It facilitates you in becoming conscious of aspects of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to enhance your self-understanding to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for depression and self harm.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your ideas, emotions and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find suitable ways of managing.
