More Detail

Over 3 Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I'm Alex. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their mental wellbeing. I hold private and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes anger, depression and stress, as well as the particular challenges faced by men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment meeting enables you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment appointment in Borehamwood, Hemel Hempstead or Rickmansworth.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what matter concerning your childhood and/or adulthood you explore. The aim of counselling is to enable you to talk about a difficulty and find a solution that is appropriate for you.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious meaning of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in being aware of aspects of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to increase your self-comprehension to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for depression, self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It considers your ideas, emotions and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or find appropriate methods of managing.
