Anxiety

Anxiety is characterised by worry. Worry is defined as apprehensive expectation. A person with anxiety may worry about a particular subject or worry about many different subjects and find it difficult to stop worrying. Another person may experience anxiety but not be aware of any subject that is a worry for them. Anxiety may also involve uncomfortable or distressing physical symptoms. Anxiety may be mild or moderate or severe, stimulus specific or without an obvious stimulus, and temporary or persistent.

Anxiety may also include symptoms such as shortness of breath, sleep problems including difficulties falling asleep or staying asleep or unsatisfying sleep, startled responses, sweating, tension including muscle aches and soreness or shakiness or trembling or twitching, or an apparently unexplainable general sense of unease.
