Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I work with individuals face to face as a psychodynamic counsellor. Some of the problems that I have worked with are as follows: Stress Relationships Panic Attacks Bereavement and loss Redundancy Depression and anxiety Traumatic experience Feeling 'stuck' I have worked face to face with clients for 6 years. Prior to completing my post graduate diploma in counselling, I was trained by Cruse Bereavement Care as a bereavement counsellor and worked in that specialised field for several years.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

Talking about the difficulties that we encounter in life in the safe and non-judgemental context of a counselling session can provide a feeling of emotional support, and alleviate the sense that you have to cope on your own.

Talking through your difficulties can also lead to greater self understanding, which in turn can enhance your feelings of choice, well-being and self-worth.

The psychodynamic approach offers you an opportunity to think deeply about yourself in a non judgemental and supportive environment.

As well as providing emotional support, which in itself can alleviate difficult experiences, I will work with you to make links between your current life and your past experiences. There will be a chance to identify and address problematic patterns in thinking and behaviour.
